The coating line operator is responsible for leading machine set ups and changeovers, problem-solving, coordinating PM's, and making decisions on machine adjustments. In this role, you will work Building 3, D-Team, 5:50PM-6AM, 3-1-3. This position ensures compliance with all environmental, health, and safety procedures, policies, and practices. The operator monitors and adjusts process conditions to manufacture a quality product safely and efficiently according to required specifications, and surfaces any malfunctions or abnormalities on equipment. This role involves assisting the Team Leader in maintaining production records, equipment logs, and product performance documents, and being flexible to lead the team when the Team Leader is absent or otherwise delegated. The operator is also expected to be flexible to work alternate schedules or overtime for training purposes and to provide coverage for the Team Leader during vacations or other absences, and to work on special projects or assignments. Facilitating employee training and providing training recommendations to production crew leader and team manager are also key aspects of this role. The operator works effectively with the team and management to create a professional and positive work environment, communicating effectively to team and management, and demonstrating compliance with current quality standard requirements. They work with the team to follow Standard Operating Conditions, job specifications, and other related instructions, and participate in group problem-solving teams and other continuous improvement activities. The role supports ELS initiatives to improve manufacturing performance of the work cell and collaborates with cross-functional teams to manufacture new products. Identifying and resolving/escalating safety issues, making recommendations for safety improvements, and performing daily production maintenance according to established guidelines are also responsibilities. The operator works with the maintenance department to minimize unplanned down-time and get the machine back up and running, and performs daily cycle counts to verify inventory. Other tasks may be assigned.
