About The Position

Excelitas is a global technology leader with more than 7,500 employees, focused on delivering market-driven solutions to fulfill the illumination, optical, detection and imaging needs of OEMs and end-users across the biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer products, scientific, security, defense and aerospace sectors. We are currently seeking a Coater Technician who will be responsible for keeping optical components moving from cleaning operations to coating chamber operations. They will also perform cleaning and inspection of substrates and coated components.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Teamwork – works effectively within the team.
Experience working in a cleanroom environment
At least 2 years of work experience in a process manufacturing environment is desired

Responsibilities

Cleans, inspects and measures more advanced/complex substrates to ensure quality.
Packages optical components
Sets up tooling
Loads parts into chambers
Starts coating runs
May perform tooling fit checks/reviews
Able to read and comprehend prints for determining specs on surface quality, substrate dimensions, arrow marking for side one and side two, packaging requirements
May begin training and/or perform second check chamber start
Understanding of non-conforming material and how to scrap material
Understanding of substrate material
Inspection of normal product
Trained on ISO / mil / final inspection
Raising tech issues with tooling, specs, process sheets, etc
Understanding defect types
Other tasks as assigned
