About The Position

The Coater Operator ensures scheduled orders are completed according to specifications and procedures established by Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Engineering. The role maintains safety, quality, and production at or above established standards while working as part of a team. The position is based at the Hickory Tape facility in Hickory, North Carolina, and is assigned to the C shift, a 12-hour night shift.

Requirements

High degree of manual dexterity.
Ability to work as a team member.
Ability to read length measurements, gauges, and meters.
Knowledge of production schedules.
Basic math skills, computer skills, and data entry ability.
Ability to follow work instructions, safety rules, and specifications with great attention to detail.
May be required to obtain a tow-motor license.

Responsibilities

Use logbooks to record issues that occur during the shift.
Be indirectly responsible for the safety of crewmembers.
Perform quality and standard checks.
Participate in scheduled die changes.
Complete required data sheets.
Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and safety inspections.
Follow Red Tag procedures when required.
Follow all safety rules when entering the manufacturing facility.
Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Maintain inventories needed for production runs.
Communicate and share knowledge with operators and coworkers.
Suggest ways to reduce costs, improve safety, or improve products and processes.
Participate in S4 continuous improvement team meetings and projects.
