About The Position

This role is for a Coater Mechanic Trainee. The position involves adjusting and repairing all equipment in the department, inspecting products for defects, performing quality checks, lubricating equipment, setting up and performing changeovers, and occasional forklift operation. Safety is a priority, with an initiative to "Drive to Zero Injuries".

Requirements

Proven background in manufacturing or similar production environment.
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings.
Ability to use measuring hand tools to set up and maintain all can line machinery and associated equipment.
Critical and logical thinking ability.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Possess ability for basic computer skills.
Ability to work with little supervision.
Able to work at heights including use of steps and ladders.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Journeyman Mechanic plus 2+ years as an Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Lift truck driver’s certification.

Responsibilities

Adjusts and/or repairs all equipment in the department.
Inspects products for defects and records results on required forms.
Informs supervisor if any defects are found.
Performs all required quality checks and documents them as required.
Rejects material that does not meet specifications and provides samples as required.
Lubricates all equipment in the department as required.
Sets up and performs changeovers.
Follows schedule as published.
Occasional forklift operation.
Observes all rules of safety.
