About The Position

Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Coating department on the 1st Shift. This role involves ensuring associates work safely and efficiently, maintaining the cleanliness of the coating line, verifying production schedules, and ensuring the quality and speed of turf production according to specifications. The Coater Lead also operates the perforator as needed, contacts maintenance for machine issues, ensures autonomous maintenance is completed, and manages the inventory of consumables.

Requirements

Ability to provide instruction and direction to employees
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
Ability to solve practical problems in situations with low supervision
Ability to read and understand documents such as SOPs and Safety Data Sheets
Ability to communicate effectively with employees & supervisor
Basic computer skills including e-mail, internet use, and spreadsheets

Responsibilities

Verify presence of all associates on the line; adjust for absences
Ensure associates work in a safe manner; report unsafe acts to supervisor
Ensure cleanliness of coating line is maintained
Verify schedule according to product and coating type (list received from Planning dept.)
Ensure turf is produced at a first quality standard
Ensure coating line is running at specification speed
Operate perforator as required
Contact maintenance for machine problems or breakdowns
Ensure autonomous maintenance is completed as specified
Ensure startup and shutdown checklists are completed as needed
Ensure inventory of consumables are maintained; report low levels to supervisor
Follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
