Coach, Youth (Pre-K) Basketball
About The Position
The J’s basketball program emphasizes fun, safety and convenience and teaches the value of good sportsmanship. Our Pre-K (Jump Start Program) coaches play a pivotal role in creating these positive and developmentally appropriate environments for our youngest players. Experience as a coach/player/referee is preferred, but not mandatory. We are hiring reliable part-time staff to assist with practices and coach games for our Summer Jump Start Basketball program. The summer season is from June 14th-July 26th. The program meets every Sunday during these dates from 12:00pm-3:00pm.
Requirements
- Experience working with young children (ages 3-6) preferred
- Experience as a coach/referee/player is preferred
- Knowledge of basketball and its rules
- Ability to create an engaging and energetic environment
- Able to work Sundays from 12pm-3pm
- Must have reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Coach basketball practices and games for ages 4-5
- Teach basic basketball skills using age-appropriate equipment and progressions
- Supervise children ages 4 to 5 years old
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure smooth session flow
