About The Position
This position is designed for management trainees and responsible for leadership development. The right candidate would be put into a leadership program. The candidate will rotate positions for a period of nine months or more to gain a full understanding of our business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or management experience
- Two years of experience in a construction or facilities environment.
- Strong Skill set for customer service
- Strong computer skills
- Strong desire to manage people and a yard
- Willing to relocate if the need arises
- Willing to travel to various yards
- Analytical skills
- Must have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities
- Move through different areas of the company and gain a variety of experience.
- Train on understanding the business and industry.
- Learn and understand the various types & pricing of metals.
- Train to lead and supervise employees, ensuring productivity, profitability, quality and safety.
- Train to inspect all incoming project materials.
- Assist in developing and communicating department goals.
- Communicate with operations about possible problems or needs for the department.
- Supervise, mentor, and assist other department employees as needed.
- Keep track of preventative maintenance checklist.
- Learn operation of all equipment and assist in the operation of equipment within the department.
- Oversee the activities of all employees as it relates to commodity tallies and keeping team members motivated.
- Train future and present scale buyers.
- Understand various metal grades and the process of sorting and grading within an element in order to produce a quality product.
- Collect information concerning work in process and finished product.
- Accurately write up receiving reports.
- Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly checks on accuracy of inventory.
