About The Position

Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Coach counselor position at Tampa Residential Facility, Tampa Florida. Tampa Residential Facility is comprised of multiple co-located residential commitment programs serving moderate risk male youth aged 14 to 18 who require substance abuse, major disorder, and intensive medical services. The programs utilize evidence-based practices to provide comprehensive care, treatment, and supervision. Youth will also receive psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group counseling while at the program. After 40 years of improving the lives of youth, we are looking for passionate advocates to continue the legacy of helping young people become successful adults. As a Direct Juvenile Support Worker, you will have the unique opportunity to create a positive, safe and supportive environment for the youth we serve while building a career rich in growth opportunities and self-fulfillment.

Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Be at least 21 years of age
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test
Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry

Responsibilities

Provide safety and around-the-clock in person supervision of youth at a secure residential facility.
Provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and skill development.
Provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs.
Monitor and document behaviors and activities.
Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.
Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.
