About The Position

The Natick Public Schools seek a Head Boys Cross Country Coach for the Fall 2026 season. Natick Public Schools serves approximately 5,300 students from Pre-K through age 22, fostering an innovative, supportive, and high-performing environment. Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Complete certifications as required by MIAA
  • Solid foundation in student-centered coaching
  • Knowledge of the developmental needs of adolescents
  • Understanding of theories and methodologies for coaching adolescents
  • Understanding of the academic, social, and emotional needs of adolescents
  • Understanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice
  • Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
  • Ability to create a welcoming team environment for student athletes
  • Ability to coach and support students in improving their individual and team skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Passion for working with students, families, and colleagues
  • Flexibility and collaboration
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth
  • Organization and ability to meet ongoing, time-sensitive deadlines for work production
  • Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (C.O.R.I.), Sexual Offender Record Check (S.O.R.I.), and fingerprints.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coaching in a diverse public school
  • Experience working with students with disabilities/special abilities
  • Experience working with students who are English language learners
  • Experience with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.) and PowerSchool
  • Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support student-athletes to reach their full potential through athletic development, character building, teamwork, and a commitment to lifelong success both on and off the course.
  • Fulfill duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
  • Identify and address bias and its impact on rigor and opportunity for students.
  • Perform any other relative duties as assigned.
