About The Position

This position is responsible for effectively operating the plant equipment to ensure the quality and quantity of CO2 production is optimized. The CO2 Plant Operator monitors and controls machinery in the CO2 plant that captures, purifies, liquefies and stores carbon dioxide. They use automated systems to regulate gas flow, temperatures and pressures. At times, they may help with routine maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues, acting as a resource during scheduled and non-scheduled shutdowns. The role involves monitoring real-time quality specifications, responding promptly to ensure CO2 product quality, and certifying final product tanks, creating BOLs for bulk truck loading, and overseeing the safe loading of bulk CO2 trucks. The operator completes daily shift production logs, is a member of the Food Safety team, and strictly adheres to its requirements. They investigate, monitor, and report deviations from production standards, operate the plant in accordance with all applicable production and safety regulations, and report all variances. Assistance in audits may be required. Communication with the ethanol facility is necessary when the CO2 plant experiences nonstandard processing. A flexible schedule may be needed at times, and routine housekeeping at the CO2 plant is performed to ensure Food Safety requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Minimum one-year process and equipment experience.
  • Excellent computer skills; familiarity with operation software.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination; safety cautious.
  • Experience working with lab testers and plant equipment.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well with little supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Driver’s license.
  • Ability to safely and effectively coordinate multiple projects/tasks.
  • Must have the ability to work different shifts and overtime. This includes the possibility of short-term and long-term shift reassignment to match the needs of the business.
  • Criminal background check and drug screen required.
