About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to join Dr. Christina Restaino's lab. This position is part of an NSF-funded project focused on understanding how fuel accumulation is changing across diverse western North American landscapes. The project aims to improve predictive models of future fire activity and co-develop scenarios with land managers to inform decision-making. This role will involve leading engagement with management partners to ensure modeling efforts align with real-world needs, including designing and facilitating annual workshops, co-developing model applications and management-relevant scenarios, and building technical infrastructure to connect scientific outputs to decision-making contexts. This is a collaboration between UNR, the University of Washington-Tacoma, and several fire management agencies across the western US.

Requirements

PhD in environmental science, natural resource management, social science, or related field.
