About The Position

As a member of the Baxter Skaneateles, NY Research & Development Team, you will assist in the world class engineering of new medical products. You will be responsible to support the project team by participating and assisting in the building and operation of prototypes and test systems for the introduction of new products at the module, integration, and system levels under the direction of a Design Engineer and/or a Test Engineer. You will create and execute prototypes, test protocols, and bench test setups. This position requires following company processes, troubleshooting problems uncovered during design and test, communicating, and working in a team environment to meet project schedules, and participating in reviews such as requirement reviews and design reviews. Requirements

  • In progress with a degree in Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; enjoy working in a team setting while being self-motivated.
  • Ability to understand specification documents.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to use test equipment and implement detailed test protocols.
  • Enjoy multi-tasking under moderate pressure; the willingness to learn new applications.
  • First time Co-ops as well as candidates with experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the world class engineering of new medical products.
  • Support the project team by participating and assisting in the building and operation of prototypes and test systems for the introduction of new products at the module, integration, and system levels under the direction of a Design Engineer and/or a Test Engineer.
  • Create and execute prototypes, test protocols, and bench test setups.
  • Troubleshoot problems uncovered during design and test.
  • Troubleshoot circuit boards using schematics, oscilloscopes and meters.
  • Communicate and work in a team environment to meet project schedules.
  • Participate in reviews such as requirement reviews and design reviews.
