About The Position

Winter Environmental is seeking motivated Co-Op and Intern candidates to support our construction and environmental remediation operations. This role is designed for students pursuing degrees in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fields who want hands-on exposure to real-world projects. Interns will work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams on active asbestos abatement, remediation, and interior demolition projects throughout the Southeast. This is not a desk-only internship — candidates will gain practical field and project experience.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related program .
  • Strong interest in construction, environmental remediation, or demolition.
  • Willingness to work in both office and field environments.
  • Ability to follow safety rules and company policies.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, co-op, or field experience in construction or environmental work.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, schedules, or project documentation.
  • OSHA 10-Hour (or willingness to obtain).
  • Interest in long-term employment with Winter Environmental.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project activities.
  • Support field operations including site observations, safety meetings, and documentation.
  • Help track manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and close-out activities.
  • Learn OSHA, EPA, and AHERA requirements related to environmental remediation.
  • Assist with jobsite safety documentation and compliance tracking.
  • Observe asbestos abatement and remediation procedures under supervision.
  • Assist with daily reports, job photos, quantity tracking, and cost data.
  • Help organize project files, submittals, and close-out documentation.
  • Support office and field teams with data entry and reporting as needed.
  • Work closely with project teams, field leadership, and office staff.
  • Attend internal meetings, training sessions, and project reviews.
  • Gain exposure to client, consultant, and subcontractor coordination.
