About The Position

Peraton is seeking Co-Op Engineers for the Spring 2027 semester in either our Blacksburg, VA or Herndon, VA offices supporting various government programs/contracts. This is a full-time co-op position requiring 40 hours per week for the entire duration of the assignment, beginning January 2027. Interns/Co-ops typically represent college students trying to gain related work experience while pursuing an undergraduate degree. Under direct supervision, the ideal candidate will design, develop, and test leading edge technology solutions in areas such as cybersecurity, satellite ground systems, information management systems, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence/machine learning. They will work in a collaborative, team-oriented Agile software development environment.

Requirements

US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
Current undergrad or graduate student who has completed progress toward a BS/BA degree or MS/MA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
Familiarity with software development and/or scripting languages, such as Java, Python, C++, Bash, etc.
Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and concepts.
Hands on experience through coursework and/or previous internships.

Nice To Haves

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
An already active/existing security clearance.
