Co-op: Electrical Engineer

About The Position
This student will be a major contributor to the development of new and existing electrical systems necessary to utilize ESTAT's unique electroadhesive brakes and clutches. This student is responsible for using existing tools to design custom robotics components to meet customer specifications. They will play pivotal roles in the production of power and control boxes, as well as developing and maintaining laboratory test-stands. They will design custom products, translate these designs into production files, place orders with suppliers and perform incoming and outgoing quality control.

Responsibilities
- Design custom robotics components to meet customer specifications.
- Produce power and control boxes.
- Develop and maintain laboratory test-stands.

- Test the newest electroadhesive clutch.
- Assist with patent drafting.
- Machine parts in our machine shop.
- Perform statistical analysis.
- Program a robotic test stand.
- Perform test-to-failure.
- Visit a supplier’s factory.
- Draft CAD models.
- Perform FEA.
- Represent the company at a major conference.
- Visit an Air Force Base for acceleration sled testing.
