About The Position

Aecon is seeking an Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) Co-op to join the Urban Transportations Solutions group to support dynamic, transit projects in Canada. The Co-op duration is 8-12 months, with a start date of September 2026, located at 20 Carlson Court, Toronto ON. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of BIM concepts, digital design, and construction processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new digital tools and workflows.
  • Ability to follow established standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Interest in digital innovation and continuous improvement in construction.
  • Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and management of Common Data Environments (CDE) for project teams.
  • Support the creation, validation, and coordination of 3D BIM models for design, planning, and construction.
  • Participate in clash detection, issue tracking, and model quality assurance activities.
  • Help prepare and organize project documentation, including model content plans, LOD matrices, and dashboards.
  • Contribute to digital design validation, quantity take-off, and reporting using BIM tools.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to facilitate information exchange and digital workflows.
  • Attend and support coordination meetings, taking notes and tracking action items.
  • Assist with training sessions and workshops for project teams on BIM and IDD tools and processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of model revisions, approvals, and project deliverables in accordance with Aecon standards.
  • Support the integration of geospatial data, survey information, and technical drawings into federated BIM models.
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
