About The Position

Trexo Robotics is enabling mobility by building powered wearable robots. Our first product is a robot for children with movement disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, and it allows kids to walk, in many cases, for the first time in their lives. The device is currently being used by hundreds of families and the best hospitals across North America. We are constantly working towards building mobility solutions for all. Our Co-op Roles for Summer 2026 Are Now Closed At Trexo, we hire students into co-op roles each term. These positions typically range from 4 to 12 months, depending on team needs. In general, the co-op roles we hire for are listed below. These positions are open only to students currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Engineering Mechatronics Intern Support the development of new R&D components, fixtures, packaging, and jigs by building prototypes and maintaining CAD drawings and BOMs. Manage Engineering Change Orders, research and select off-the-shelf components, and assist in designing and conducting experiments. Troubleshoot issues in returned products across software, electrical, and mechanical systems, and collaborate with manufacturing to implement new tools, processes, and validate design changes. Robotics Software Developer Intern Develop software in C/C++/Python for our robotics stack. Fix bugs, participate in code reviews, and improve infrastructure tools (e.g., update software, CI/CD, Linux systems). Data Engineering Intern Build and maintain a lightweight data warehouse and schedule ELT/ETL pipelines. Model data and write transformations using SQL and/or dbt. Manufacturing & Production Manufacturing Intern Support manufacturing of existing products and assist in transitioning to new products. Design and build fixtures for assembly and testing, and improve parts and processes for DFM/DFA. Robot Builder Intern Assemble subassemblies and complete Trexo devices. Test mechanical and electronic components and assist with inventory and facility maintenance. Quality Quality Intern – QA & QC Maintain proper record control, including document revisions, approvals, and retention in compliance with FDA, Health Canada, and ISO 13485 standards. Support internal audits and ensure processes align with regulatory requirements. Assist with product testing, inspections, and quality documentation. Business Operations Business Automation Intern Build no-code automations (e.g., Zapier, Make) connecting tools like Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Gmail, Calendly, Airtable, and Salesforce. Write scripts (JavaScript/Python) for webhooks, data processing, and edge cases. Develop AI agents (e.g., chatbots) and maintain Salesforce workflows. Marketing Marketing Intern Support social media initiatives to build brand awareness. Assist the Head of Marketing with travel coordination, event logistics, and collaboration with sales teams for roadshows and events.

Requirements

  • Experience with SolidWorks and a portfolio.
  • Experience with C/C++ and Python, along with a portfolio and prior internship experience.
  • Experience with SQL and Python.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and a relevant degree in manufacturing or similar field.
  • Hands-on assembly experience and a portfolio.
  • Strong interest in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and medical devices.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and JavaScript.

Responsibilities
