Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Co-Occurring Specialist (CADC) to join an evidence-based program and a dynamic team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, counseling, psychology or criminal justice.
  • CADC required.
  • A minimum of 2 years paid, progressive work experience in co-occurring/Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment services or human service experience with strong knowledge of addictions.
  • 1-year experience if certified as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • No more than one moving violation within the past 12 months.
  • Vehicle required.

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience as a person in recovery preferred.
  • Those who disclose they are in recovery must have two years clean time.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a wellness and recovery-oriented environment using person-first language, respectful documentation, person-centered planning, and evidence-based practices.
  • Foster a culture of compliance with internal and external policies, regulations, laws, and high ethical and professional standards.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and updating of the Individualized Recovery Plan/Individual Recovery Plan (IRP).
  • Perform therapeutic rehabilitative skill development as outlined in the CSS Regulations.
  • Offer services appropriate to meet persons served needs as identified in the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Needs Assessment (CRNA) and included in each individual's IRP.
  • Perform crisis intervention as indicated.
  • Coordinate and manage services in conjunction with the team.
  • Provide supportive counseling, medication education, mental health education, and early crisis intervention.
  • Engage people receiving services in the treatment process.
  • Provide medication education.
  • Provide culturally competent services.
  • Provide housing support services, including pre-tenancy, move-in, and on-going tenancy supports.
  • Establish and implement treatment interventions as outlined in IRPs.
  • Assess individual's daily living skills and teach needed skills in budgeting, cooking, laundry, cleaning, shopping, personal hygiene, and self-advocacy.
  • Provide technical assistance and education to team members in substance abuse treatment.
  • Provide clinical leadership for the CSS team in Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment.
  • Provide intensive integrated dual-recovery services, individual and group treatment, outreach, referral, and case management to adults with co-occurring disorders.
  • Perform evidence-based practices appropriate for implementing community support services, such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral and Educational Strategies, Trauma Informed Care, Career Services, Permanent Supportive Housing, IMR, and WRAP.
  • Complete all documentation on time per the program's timeline.
  • Complete statistical reports as assigned related to services and outcomes.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision as scheduled and actively seek individual supervision sessions with a licensed supervisor.
  • Perform co-occurring intake assessments as needed.
  • Assess individual's substance use history and current needs, and work with the individual and team to develop substance abuse treatment goals and interventions.
  • Conduct assessments using the ASI, SATS, and other tools as needed.
  • Develop and implement a clinical recovery plan based on assessments, including substance use/co-occurring disorder/IDDT materials and strategies for individual and group interventions, in conjunction with the team.
  • Provide Stage-Based counseling using motivational interviewing, CBT, 12 Step principles, and behavioral interventions.
  • Facilitate a range of Co-Occurring recovery groups as indicated.
  • Assist individuals to identify triggers for relapse and focus on a lifestyle centered on recovery.
  • Refer to co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder treatment services and recovery support resources, including medication-assisted treatment.
  • Educate individuals on the interactive effects of substance use on psychiatric symptoms, social behavior, psychiatric, and other medications.
  • Encourage and provide practical strategies for alcohol and substance-free living environments.
  • Collect and share self-help recovery and local co-occurring recovery group meeting lists with individuals and accompany them to local groups/meetings to encourage engagement/attendance.
  • Provide linkage (referral) to appropriate services, e.g., detox, rehab, AA/NA, HIV services, etc.
  • Act as a liaison for persons served as they move through the treatment system, including transporting and accompanying individuals to appointments.
  • Maintain contact with other service providers to encourage referrals and ensure effective coordination of services.
  • Participate in discharge meetings and meet with other service providers as necessary to assist in coordinating treatment planning and interventions.
  • Refer to necessary legal services.
  • Coordinate services with the criminal justice system as needed.
