Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in retail, food service, or restaurant leadership
  • Strong coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in high-volume, guest-focused environments
  • Ability to read and act on business metrics such as P&L, labor, and sales
  • High School Diploma or GED, in progress or completed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed
  • Willing to obtain and maintain food handler and alcohol server permits (if required)

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a guest-first culture, ensuring every interaction is welcoming and efficient.
  • Establish a warm and welcoming environment for all guests, team members, and vendors.
  • Mentor, train, and coach Shift Managers and team members at all levels, ensuring proper execution of store training and evaluating its effectiveness.
  • Empower teams by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and leading by example through accountability, collaboration, and ownership of key responsibilities.
  • Foster open communication and collaboration across all shifts, clarifying expectations, relaying information, and promoting teamwork.
  • Assist in executing store-level strategies to drive sales, guest satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, vendor relationships, and cash control, including accurate ordering, minimizing waste, and communicating updates.
  • Drive promotional execution, educate the team on promoting items, and ensure clear communication of current and upcoming promotions.
  • Ensure the store is clean, stocked, and aligned with RaceTrac brand standards.
  • Conduct regular food quality checks and coach the team on food safety standards and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and educate teams on these policies.
  • Maintain and organize required documentation for audits or inspections.
  • Analyze reports, identify trends, and take action to improve store performance.
  • Support team scheduling and staffing needs, monitoring execution and creating schedules as needed.
  • Provide performance feedback to the General Manager, support performance management, and help associates identify development opportunities.
  • Ensure guest transaction expectations, including managing line lengths, are clearly understood and consistently met.
  • Adjust communication style to suit the audience, actively listen, and ask clarifying questions.
