About The Position

WeVote is a nonpartisan get-out-the-vote nonprofit startup and a celebrated Fast Forward nonprofit technology grantee. WeVote is a movement of over 100 passionate volunteers (starting with the founders) who are building open-source mobile technologies that touch and mobilize millions of voters on Election Day. We observe that many voters are busy, distracted, and impatient. We have a goal of providing a complete voting experience in 8 minutes, including the download of our app ("WeVote Ballot Guide, @WeVote"). More information is at https://WeVote.US. Working with the Marketing team, including our Chief of Staff, to develop and own our marketing strategy Drive our marketing and communications teams Drive our press strategy and outreach Work with our team to create the marketing materials we use to explain our product offering

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in marketing
  • Customer/user centric mindset
  • Hands-on experience with CRM and SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Adwords, HubSpot, WebTrends, SalesForce, etc.
  • Management of teams of 60 employees or more
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • BA in Marketing, or similar field
  • Availability: At least 10 hours each week during our core team hours M-F 9 a.m. - 6 p.m PST with the ability to work 1-2 hours during Pacific Time overlap. Must be available to attend the Marketing team meetings and leadership meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Set marketing goals and objectives
  • Plan, implement and manage marketing strategy parallel to organization’s strategy
  • Contribute to the overall growth of the organization
  • Review and manage content marketing strategy
  • Review and manage social media strategy
  • Own WeVote branding
  • Own internal communication with volunteers
  • Own external newsletter to users and supporters
  • Determine KPIs for the marketing department and track against them
  • Keep track of the marketing budget
  • Track KPIs on a regular basis and present results
  • Work with business development, product and other teams
  • Create and present the annual marketing plan and strategy
  • Use data and reports to make evidence-based decisions
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology and best practices
  • Work with the team to design, plan and execute effective marketing campaigns
