This is a hands-on, performance-driven executive role for a marketing leader who has built and scaled growth in plaintiff-side legal services. You will own the full marketing funnel—brand through retained client—partnering closely with practice leadership, intake/call center leadership, and operations to ensure marketing performance translates into high-quality signed cases and a strong client experience from “Free Case Evaluation” onward. The ideal candidate brings deep plaintiff-side legal marketing experience and understands how to scale performance marketing while protecting brand integrity and maintaining compliance in a regulated environment. Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid) or available at any of our main office locations, as determined by firm leadership. SALARY AND BENEFITS: $200,000-$300,000 annually Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.

Requirements

  • Plaintiff-side legal marketing experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with substantial experience in legal marketing required and plaintiff-side experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success marketing personal injury and/or mass torts, including demand generation, case acquisition strategy, and intake conversion optimization.
  • Proven experience managing significant performance marketing budgets across relevant acquisition channels (e.g., paid search, paid social, digital media), optimizing for signed cases and case quality — not solely lead volume.
  • Experience overseeing multi-state legal advertising programs with structured governance and compliance workflows.
  • Strong understanding of legal industry marketing, attorney business development, and ABA/state bar advertising and professional conduct requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute firmwide marketing and growth strategies aligned with measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience partnering with intake/call center leadership to improve speed-to-lead, qualification standards, QA processes, and lead-to-sign conversion.
  • Proven leadership experience building, managing, and developing high-performing teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior partners and align stakeholders in a consensus-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in brand strategy, digital marketing, public relations, and client development initiatives.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience leveraging CRM systems, analytics platforms, and performance reporting tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment in a regulated, reputation-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Operator mindset with strong prioritization, execution discipline, and relationship builder.
  • Strategic thinker who translates performance insights into action.
  • Collaborative leader who can align stakeholders across practices, markets, and operations.
  • Mission-aligned professional who embodies and reinforces the firm’s Fearless Advocacy culture.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and business development strategy aligned with the firm’s long-term goals and plaintiff-side growth objectives (personal injury and mass torts).
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to firm leadership on market positioning, competitive intelligence, expansion opportunities, and performance forecasting.
  • Establish measurable KPIs tied to qualified case acquisition, signed-case conversion, brand strength, and ROI; report regularly to executive leadership.
  • Drive expansion initiatives across key practice areas, industries, and geographic markets.
  • Maintain ultimate accountability for marketing performance while leading execution through internal teams and external partners.
  • Define and steward the firm’s brand identity, messaging, and value proposition across all channels.
  • Ensure consistent brand representation across digital, print, broadcast, media, and client-facing materials.
  • Strengthen the firm’s reputation in plaintiff-side litigation through thought leadership, awards, rankings, speaking engagements, and strategic PR.
  • Establish governance processes to protect brand integrity across multiple offices and practice groups.
  • Lead firmwide strategy for qualified lead generation and signed-case growth across personal injury and mass tort practice areas.
  • Oversee multi-channel performance marketing efforts (paid search, paid social, digital, broadcast, affiliates/lead partners, and other relevant acquisition channels).
  • Partner closely with intake/call center leadership to optimize speed-to-lead, qualification, scripting, QA, and lead-to-sign conversion performance.
  • Support attorneys in cross-selling, client retention, and relationship-building initiatives.
  • Oversee client feedback programs, satisfaction surveys, and experience improvement initiatives beginning at “Free Case Evaluation” through representation.
  • Provide executive oversight of website strategy, SEO/local SEO, content marketing, social media, reputation management, email campaigns, and marketing automation.

  • Implement structured review and approval workflows for multi-state legal advertising programs.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Director of Business Development and Referral Relationships, ensuring alignment between marketing strategy and referral growth initiatives.
  • Partner with the Director to strengthen strategic partnerships and expand the firm’s referral network nationwide.
  • Design and implement attorney business development training and coaching programs.
  • Support practice group marketing plans, individual attorney growth strategies, and lateral integration initiatives.
  • Develop tools, templates, and processes to increase attorney engagement in business development and referral development efforts.
  • Align plaintiff marketing strategy with broader firm relationship development objectives to drive measurable growth outcomes.
  • Manage the firm’s marketing and business development budget, ensuring disciplined, ROI-driven investment decisions.
  • Oversee significant performance marketing spend with a focus on optimizing for case quality and signed-case outcomes—not solely lead volume.
  • Implement dashboards, attribution models, forecasting tools, and executive reporting cadence.
  • Leverage CRM, intake data, analytics platforms, and market research to inform strategy and continuous optimization.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, agencies, media partners, and external consultants.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing and business development organization (digital, creative, brand, PR/communications, web, and marketing operations).
