About The Position

At IGS, CNG General Laborers perform a wide variety of activities associated with the safe and efficient construction of company assets. This role supports a small, high-performance team that primarily builds CNG fueling facilities in Ohio and surrounding states. Work includes operating construction equipment, unloading deliveries, performing mechanical and plumbing-related tasks, and providing other assistance at the job site. The position requires travel, with occasional overnight stays possible; weekends are spent at home. The ideal candidate has a well-rounded construction-trades background, particularly in electrical and mechanical work, and lives in or near Columbus, Ohio.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in the construction trades.
• Strong understanding of various construction trades.
• Experience using heavy construction machinery, hand tools, and power tools.
• Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, and process flow diagrams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Willingness to learn new skills, construction trades, methods, and techniques.
• Valid driver's license that must be maintained.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; current or future sponsorship is not available.
• Ability to meet physical requirements that may include standing for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, and routinely lifting items up to 75 pounds.
• Must wear protective equipment for some duties, such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, and gas monitors.

Nice To Haves

• Mechanical, plumbing, or electrical skills in commercial or industrial construction are strongly preferred.
• A well-rounded background assisting in all construction trades, particularly electrical and mechanical trades.
• Living in or near Columbus, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to perform tasks on the job site.
• Load and unload construction supplies from trucks manually and with equipment.
• Perform preventive equipment maintenance, including greasing fittings and changing oil and filters.
• Maintain the cleanliness of equipment.
• Lay and connect pipe made of various materials and using various fitting types, including water and gas pipe.
• Help develop solutions to construction challenges that arise on site.
• Keep the construction site clean and presentable, including general trash and debris cleanup.
• Keep tools and construction materials organized.
• Follow safety regulations and procedures.
• Perform other tasks in support of IGS business as needed.
