The CNC Tool Maker programs, sets up, and operates CNC machines to manufacture precision tooling, fixtures, and components used in aerospace-parts production. The role works closely with engineers and other team members to understand project requirements and contribute input on tool design and manufacturing processes. It uses Mastercam to generate 2D and 3D cutter paths and may program CNC mills or lathes manually using G&M code. The position also creates probing routines for establishing home positions, aligning parts, and inspecting part dimensions; prepares machines by loading materials, selecting cutting tools, and configuring settings; monitors machining for accuracy; and inspects finished components against quality standards and engineering tolerances. Additional tasks may be assigned.
