About The Position

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is looking for a CNC Tech. This is a full-time, contract position with a duration of 12 months, offering the opportunity for extension and potential direct hire after ninety (90) days. The role involves setting up and operating automated machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop theory, mathematics, materials, and layout techniques. Responsibilities include operating machines using existing programs, managing cutting tools and offsets, inspecting materials and parts for conformity to blueprints and engineering documents, identifying appropriate materials and cutting tools, setting up materials, monitoring supplies, performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with 5S and EHS requirements. Level II responsibilities also include testing programs, manipulating programs to ensure proper fit, and completing required paperwork.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • One (1) year experience with similar automated equipment.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience preferred (for entry-level consideration).
  • Two (2) years of related experience or education.
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • Participation in a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, operate automated machine using existing programs.
  • Remove/replace cutting tools and offsets as required.
  • Inspect condition of tools and replace as needed.
  • Inspect cut material/part prior to CNC operation to ensure conformity and compliance with blueprints, models, and/or engineering documents.
  • Identify material and appropriate cutting tools.
  • Set up material and inspect for serviceability.
  • Monitor material supply.
  • Validate preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machines.
  • Alert maintenance of any repair/preventative issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Comply with 5S and Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
  • Test program and ensure machine is set up in accordance with drawings.
  • Manipulate programs to fit inserts into material, ensuring fit and conformity.
  • Complete paperwork and other documents as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
