About The Position

Our CNC Swiss Operators help manufacture mission-critical precision components used in medical device, aerospace, defense, space exploration, and high-tech applications. This is not button-pushing work. You’ll run Swiss CNC machines that produce small, complex, tight-tolerance parts where accuracy matters at every step. You’ll load material, monitor production, change tools, adjust offsets, inspect parts during the run, and help keep machines moving safely and consistently. If you take pride in clean setups, stable processes, good parts, and a machine that hums along like it knows the assignment, this role belongs on your radar.

Requirements

  • Dependable, curious, and hands-on
  • Ability to read blueprints, part prints, setup sheets, and basic GD&T callouts
  • Understanding of CNC / NC code
  • Ability to use basic inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, pin gauges, thread gauges, plug gauges, or optical comparators
  • Experience making tool changes and offset adjustments
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with size, finish, burrs, tool wear, material movement, or part consistency
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to operate machinery, tools, controls, gauges, and measuring instruments.
  • Frequently reach, grasp, handle, and manipulate small parts and tooling components.
  • Visually inspect parts, tooling, machine displays, blueprints, and measurement devices, including the ability to distinguish fine details and small dimensional variations.
  • Read and interpret written instructions, blueprints, setup sheets, inspection reports, and digital production information.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while loading material, changing tools, cleaning machines, and performing routine maintenance.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull materials, tooling, and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment and lifting devices when required.
  • Work around moving mechanical equipment, cutting tools, metal chips, coolants, lubricants, and other manufacturing-related materials.
  • Tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels typical of a manufacturing environment while using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain regular attendance and work scheduled overtime as needed to support production requirements.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or have a valid Green Card.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of CNC Swiss machining experience preferred
  • Experience operating Swiss-type CNC lathes, sliding headstock lathes, screw machines, or precision turning equipment
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, or technical training is a plus
  • Experience with Citizen, Star, Tsugami, DMG Mori, Traub, Hanwha, or similar Swiss CNC machines is a plus
  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, defense, contract manufacturing, or tight-tolerance production machining is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Run 2 or more Swiss CNC machines at the same time
  • Read and follow blueprints, job folders, travelers, setup sheets, work instructions, and inspection requirements
  • Load bar stock and monitor machine performance throughout production
  • Change tools, make offset adjustments, and support tool life management
  • Perform in-process inspection using gauges and measuring tools
  • Check part dimensions, finishes, and features throughout the run
  • Troubleshoot issues related to size, finish, tool wear, chips, coolant, or machine performance
  • Record production counts, inspection results, and required documentation
  • Make basic NC code edits when trained and authorized
  • Keep machines clean, safe, maintained, and production-ready
  • Support continuous improvement ideas related to cycle time, tooling, process stability, and setups
  • Help support “lights-out” machining and unattended machining where appropriate
