About The Position
NyproMold is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Surface Grind Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC surface grinding equipment to finish high-precision components holding tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will have experience working with hardened tool steels, interpreting technical drawings, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced tooling environment.
Requirements
- 1+ years of grinding or precision machining experience preferred
- Experience operating CNC surface grinders in a tooling or mold manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience grinding hardened tool steels and precision components
- Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments and inspection methods
- Ability to maintain tight tolerances and high cosmetic standards
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Manual dexterity required for handling precision tooling and measuring instruments
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC surface grinding machines for precision mold and tooling components
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Grind components to tight tolerances and surface finish requirements
- Select and install grinding wheels, tooling, and fixtures as required
- Perform machine offsets, program edits, and troubleshooting as needed
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, indicators, and height gauges
- Verify dimensions and maintain quality documentation throughout production
- Work with hardened tool steels and other specialty materials
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards
