About The Position

Hendrick Technical Solutions is looking for a dependable and detail oriented Second Shift Sheet Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Sheet Laser Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating fiber laser cutting equipment to produce precision sheet metal components. The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC laser equipment, understands basic machining and fabrication principles, and takes pride in producing high-quality parts safely and efficiently. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys working with advanced manufacturing equipment and wants to continue developing their technical skills. Second Shift is Monday-Friday, 3:30pm-12:30am

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating a CNC laser, preferably a fiber laser.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machine operation and setup.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work second shift.
  • Ability to safely handle sheet metal and operate manufacturing equipment.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and manufacturing technologies.
  • U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or U.S. Person Status Required due to ITAR requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating a fiber sheet laser.
  • Experience with Cincinnati laser equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of metrology.
  • Experience working with a variety of sheet metal materials and thicknesses.
  • Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC sheet fiber laser equipment to produce parts according to drawings and production requirements.
  • Load and unload sheet material onto the laser.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting materials, tooling, and consumables.
  • Review and verify machine programs before beginning production.
  • Monitor laser operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional and quality requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part dimensions.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic machine and cutting issues.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Monitor material usage and minimize scrap whenever possible.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Work closely with programmers, engineers, supervisors, and other production personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
