This role is responsible for the setup of CNC machine tools, including changing inserts, bars, collets, and jaws, as well as setting up automation. The position requires the ability to adjust cutting inserts during operation and to act properly and timely when nonconforming processes or products are detected, problem-solving to resolution. Effective communication of job-related information, both written and verbal, is essential. The role demands the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple machine setups, and maintain a close attention to detail. A strong understanding of blueprints, detailed instructions, a 2-axis coordinate system, and complex arithmetic, geometric, and algebraic calculations is necessary. Proficiency in using tools such as comparators, digital micrometers, and drop gages is also required.
