Requirements

General knowledge of machining fundamentals and basic operation skills, shop arithmetic, print reading and measuring procedures.
On-the-job training of three to four years in applied machine shop experience.
At least one year of CNC Setup
Must be proficient with Fanuc controls
Must be able to understand and edit basic programs.

Responsibilities

Set-up, check routine programs and operate CNC machines to perform a standard series of progressive machining operations to meet precise tolerance/finish requirements.
Instruct other operators on the job requirements.
Setup equipment and fixtures in machining center for other operators
Select proper tooling
Manually program short runs/special jobs
Instruct operators on procedures and methods
Make periodic operation checks to assure proper machining operations
Diagnose troubles and make adjustments
Work from drawings, process sheets, etc.
Use a variety of precision measuring instruments
Perform other duties as assigned
