The CNC Set Up position involves operating a CNC machine safely to produce quality products and meet production expectations. This role requires setting up tools, fixtures, and work zeros, and obtaining first piece approval. The individual will collaborate with Quality Control for part approval and inspection plans, and with programmers for technical issues. Responsibilities include ensuring machine safety interlocks are functional, mentoring operators on production and inspection, documenting work in the ERP system, identifying process improvements, and communicating any production, safety, or quality concerns to the supervisor. Adherence to the FOD program is also expected. The role requires the use of calibrated measuring equipment and proper handling of inspection tools and parts. In times of low work, employees may be expected to assist in other areas such as cleaning, operating machines, manual machining, tool management, or inspection. Maintaining a positive attitude, punctuality, a clean work area, and being a team player are essential. Awareness of quality policies, procedures, objectives, and contributions to product conformance, safety, and ethics is required.
