About The Position
The CNC Set-Up Machinist is responsible for setting up CNC machines, selecting tooling, adjusting programs, and ensuring first-article quality before releasing jobs to production.
Requirements
- 3+ years CNC machining/set-up experience
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMM reports
- Experience with common CNC controls (Haas, Fanuc, Mazak)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work independently
Nice To Haves
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing
- Ability to edit G-code for minor program adjustments
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC mills/lathes including tooling, fixturing, and program loading
- Perform first-article inspections and verify dimensional accuracy
- Adjust offsets, feeds, speeds, and tool paths as needed
- Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize performance
- Train CNC Operators on proper machine operation
- Maintain documentation for setups and process improvements
