About The Position
Cadrex is searching for a CNC Set Up I to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC Machining Centers to ready machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity, with the ability to operate hand tools and machinery
- Ability to learn and follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills in CNC machining and programming
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is preferred
- 2-year technical certification or equivalent experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup of CNC machines for production runs, including loading materials, securing workpieces, and installing tooling
- Learn to interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to understand machining requirements
- Assist in the operation of CNC machines to produce parts with tight tolerances and complex geometries
- Perform basic CNC programming tasks, such as inputting tool offsets and adjusting machine settings
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as directed by senior operators or supervisors to ensure quality and efficiency
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications
- Assist in troubleshooting machining issues and identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and productive work environment
