About The Position

CONMED is seeking a CNC Senior Machinist with a focus on Swiss Machines for their PMO Factory. This role involves operating various advanced CNC machines, with a primary focus on Swiss-centered machinery. The ideal candidate will be able to follow instructions, read blueprints, identify and resolve machining issues to produce defect-free parts at required production rates, and perform accurate measurements using precision tools. A significant part of the responsibility includes setting up and operating production machinery to create close-tolerance precision medical device parts, with an emphasis on verifying and validating new setups and first piece runs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience operating advanced CNC production equipment (e.g., Swiss, Lathe and Mill machines with live tooling).
• Successful completion of the Senior Machinist Assessment.
• Ability to produce parts at maximum rates with zero defects.
• Ability to optimize processes through continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Operate various advanced CNC machines and assist with set-ups of CNC machines, primarily Swiss-centered machinery.
• Follow written and verbal instructions, and read basic blueprints or mechanical drawings.
• Recognize machining or manufacturing problems to produce defect-free parts while meeting production rates.
• Accurately perform measurement tasks utilizing measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Set up advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, Lathes with live-tooling, etc.
• Operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts.
• Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates established for a given operation.
• Perform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts.
• Perform in-process and first piece inspection.
• Complete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict tolerance.
• Provide training and technical training to less experienced employees.
