About The Position

The CNC Saw Operator is responsible for using an automated saw to cut parts to size, ensuring a high-quality, defect-free product for customers. This role operates on the 3rd shift, from 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday, with overtime as needed. The starting pay is $25.00 per hour plus a shift differential.

Requirements

  • Must maintain good attendance and a positive work attitude.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of all safety guidelines and specific safety hazards associated with trimming.
  • Must have knowledge of and use all safety equipment required for saw operation.
  • Must be able to read a tape rule.
  • Must understand how to read the production schedule.
  • Must know how to operate the automated saw.
  • Need to know how to operate the vacuum lift rack.
  • Must be a properly trained and certified crane operator.
  • Must know how to operate a hand grinder.
  • Must know how to operate dust collector.
  • Wear or use all personal protection equipment required for trimming.
  • Proper inspection of crane and attachments.
  • Read, understand and adhere to rules and guidelines stated in the company handbook.

Responsibilities

  • Use automated saw to cut parts to size as per production list and/or I.D. tag.
  • Identify potential defects and comply with auto control program.
  • Flip parts over onto conveyor.
  • Assist final finish when necessary.
  • Ensure the dust collector is running when operating the saw.
  • Monitor fullness of scrap hopper and dust collector hopper and alert utility person or forklift operator to have hoppers emptied.
  • Keep saw and table clean and in good working order.
  • Inspect blades, shrouds, and wire harnesses daily and report problems to supervisor.
  • Help others with their job if needed, such as grinding.
  • Help keep the shop, shop floor and machinery clean and keep trashcans empty.
  • May be assigned a designated area to keep clean.
