About The Position

The CNC Programmer 1 works closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to design, program, and machine vacuum forming molds, work holding fixtures, production piece parts, and prototypes. This role involves assisting in creating programs for 3-axis and 5-axis CNC routers using CAM software, and designing vacuum-forming molds and working holding fixtures using SolidWorks CAD software. The position also requires participation in product development reviews to provide feedback on manufacturability, close collaboration with CNC machine operators to ensure production parts meet specifications, and communication with manufacturing, Design Engineering, and Quality departments on timelines, designs, and quality control. The role includes creating and maintaining documentation for CNC operations and managing CNC tooling inventory, while adhering to all company policies and OSHA regulations for safety.

Requirements

  • CNC machining and programming experience
  • Ability to learn quickly and a strong desire to tackle new challenges

Nice To Haves

  • Design experience using CAD software
  • Certified SolidWorks Associate certificate (CSWA)
  • Programming experience using HSMWorks CAM software
  • Associate degree in machining or related technical program

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating programs for 3-axis and 5-axis CNC routers using CAM software.
  • Design vacuum-forming molds and working holding fixtures using SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Participate in product development reviews to provide feedback on the manufacturability of parts and improve product design.
  • Work closely with CNC machine operator(s) to produce production parts that meet quality and design specifications.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the manufacturing floor, Design Engineering, and Quality departments on timelines, part designs, and quality control processes.
  • Create, control, and maintain documentation related to 3-Axis and 5-Axis CNC operations and jobs.
  • Manage CNC tooling inventory.
  • Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by company policy.
