Requirements

  • 5+ years’ Experience using Mastercam
  • 5+ years’ CNC machining operation experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exhibits judgment in leading others to objectives with excellent oral and written communication skills – organized, self-motivated, manage multiple tasks and/or priorities, easily adaptable to change.
  • Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Machining Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Experience programming 5-axis simultaneous machining centers, mill-turns, or Swiss-style CNC machines.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), tooling optimization, and machining of aerospace materials such as titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements, and aerospace manufacturing quality standards.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including cycle time reduction, process optimization, and new product integration.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop machining processes and programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers and CNC lathes.
  • Assist in process improvement and cost reductions through productivity improvements and machine time reductions.
  • Test tools and new product programs.
  • Responsible for the CAD system that generates computer models of the parts.
  • Develop machine processes and programs for manufacturing products, interfacing with tool engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and production personnel.
  • Analyze part drawings, sketches, and design data to determine cutting parameters and select tools.
  • Perform debugging and testing of CNC programs.
  • Develop and maintain CNC programs for multi-axis lathes and mills using a 3D programming CAD system.
  • Write instruction sheets and tool lists.
  • Observe machine operations on trial runs to verify program instructions.
  • Revise programs to correct errors or omissions.
  • Perform cutting tool evaluations, cost analysis, and new technology implementation.
  • Analyze tooling failures.
  • Implement cycle time reduction strategies by adjusting feeds and speeds, optimizing machine moves, and evaluating cutters.
  • Maintain status reports on program availability.
  • Receive, load, verify, and store digital data from customers per the CAD/CAM/CAI Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Ensure synchronization of software revision levels with customer requirements and notify customers of changes.
  • Work with estimating staff to support company proposal efforts, ensuring synchronization between sales, estimating, programming, quality, and manufacturing.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and laws, and ensure department compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
