The CNC Programmer will review three-dimensional CAD models and blueprints to determine job specifications and machining requirements. This role involves developing machining instructions, determining the proper sequence of operations, and identifying required fixturing. The programmer will program toolpaths using Mastercam software to achieve dimensional accuracy, superior surface finishes, and efficient use of CNC equipment. Responsibilities include checking programs and running simulations before releasing them to CNC operations, understanding machine tools, and performing functions associated with computer-aided manufacturing. The role also involves monitoring cutting tool performance, working closely with CNC operators and the Mold Shop, handling multiple complex assignments, creating 2D drawings and die lines, operating the sample press, assisting with mold sampling and other Tool Design activities, maintaining file structures, and ensuring production tooling is completed on time. The programmer will also identify and correct safety hazards, maintain a clean work area, and participate in Lean Manufacturing processes.
