About The Position

The CNC Programmer works to meet established standards of productivity and quality and will serve as a CNC Programmer for all jobs completed within the work cell. This role involves managing daily production activities for an assigned team, including machine programming for 3, 4, and 5 Axis Mills and CNC Lathes. The position requires complete ownership over assigned equipment and the team's daily job functions, responsibilities, fixtures, work instructions, team development, work flow, and priorities. Team members may include set-up machinists, operators, and deburr staff. The role demands accountability to company metrics and policies, collaborative and safe work in a lean environment with cross-functional teams, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor while inspiring, influencing, mentoring, and promoting a safe, positive, engaging work atmosphere built on trust and teamwork. Additionally, the CNC Programmer must identify training needs, tooling recommendations, fixture design, and implement best machining practices, with a solid understanding of quality standards and GD&T as applied in an aerospace & defense environment. Key aspects include time management, team building, detail-oriented and accurate execution of CNC Mill/Lathe programming for both NPI and legacy work, and maintaining or improving legacy part quality standards and cycle times through process improvements in accordance with customer and company manufacturing standards, delivery commitments, internal procedures, and protocols.

Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years of experience programming CNC Mills or CNC Lathes
Experience with Mastercam or BobCAD-CAM, Fusion 360, and Esprit CAM
Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Thorough knowledge of print reading and mathematics
Strong work ethic
Must be a U.S. Citizen, or lawful permanent resident of the U.S. to adhere to U.S. Government international trade regulations

Responsibilities

Managing the daily production activities for assigned team, including machine programming for 3, 4 and 5 Axis Mills and CNC Lathes
Complete ownership over assigned equipment as well as the team’s daily job functions, responsibilities, fixtures, work instructions, team development, work flow and priorities
Holding oneself and team accountable to company metrics and policies
Working collaboratively and safely in a lean environment with cross-functional teams and varying levels of experience, including but not limited to Engineering, Quality, Production, Deburr and Project Managers
Maintaining professional demeanor while positively inspiring, influencing, mentoring and promoting a safe, positive, engaging work atmosphere built on trust and teamwork
Identifying training needs, tooling recommendations, fixture design and implementing best machining practices
Maintaining solid understanding of quality standards and GD&T as it applies in an aerospace & defense environment
Time management, team building, detail oriented and accurate execution of the CNC Mill / Lathe programming for both NPI and legacy “repeat” work
Maintaining or improving legacy part quality standards and cycle times with process improvements in accordance with customer and company manufacturing standards, delivery commitments, internal procedures, and protocols
