Requirements

  • Strong technical skills in CNC programming for 4-axis and 5-axis machines.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent on the job experience.
  • Solid background in manufacturing processes within the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in CAM software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical data, and mathematical concepts.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong grasp of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Problem-solving abilities (define issues, collect data, draw accurate conclusions).
  • Physical stamina for standing.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate a noisy environment with moving mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

  • Programming, setting up, and operating advanced numerical control machines.
  • Performing various machining functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching on both metallic and nonmetallic workpieces.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical data to determine tooling requirements and setup procedures.
  • Creating CNC programs for 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers using CAM software or manual inputs.
  • Designing and fabricating holding fixtures.
  • Documenting tool lists.
  • Conducting First Article inspections.
  • Training operators on machine operations.
  • Actively monitoring machine operations and performing necessary maintenance.
