About The Position

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain machining programs that support high-quality, efficient manufacturing operations. The role translates engineering intent into effective machining strategies so parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and cost-effectively. It is based in a job shop environment where projects present varied challenges and success requires a strong machining background, sound manufacturing judgment, and creative, efficient solutions for unique parts and applications.

Requirements

At least 3 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong machining background with a thorough understanding of machining processes, tooling, fixturing, and setup practices.
Proficiency with CAM software, preferably Mastercam.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
Knowledge of G-code and CNC controls such as Fanuc, Mazak, or similar.
Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling selection, and process optimization.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience programming 4-axis or 5-axis machining centers.
Familiarity with CAD software such as Inventor or AutoCAD.
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
Experience in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam and other CAM software.
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements to develop machining strategies.
Select tooling, cutting parameters, and fixturing solutions to maximize performance.
Simulate and verify toolpaths to ensure accuracy and prevent collisions.
Support CNC machinists and operators with setup instructions and technical guidance.
Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machining issues on the production floor.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cycle times and increasing efficiency.
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to improve manufacturability and process performance.
Maintain program documentation, revision control, and backups.
Ensure all machining processes meet quality, safety, and customer requirements.
