About The Position

Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a CNC Programmer. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide. The CNC Programmer/Machinist is responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure efficient and accurate machining operations, adherence to safety practices, and compliance with company policies and ISO9001 requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or a General Educational Development Diploma (GED).
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions, work orders and engineered drawings.
  • Ability to use shop mathematics.
  • Five or more years of related experience, which includes at least three years as a fully operational set up and run machinist, two years of experience programming NC or CNC machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Creates new and modifies existing programs according to standard practice instructions (SPI).
  • Backs up records to the P drive and R drive for new and modified programs according to standard practice instructions (SPI).
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Works with Mastercam or equivalent to work on post-processing.
  • Verifies the availability of tooling and fixtures required by CNC programs.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Troubleshoots machining operations on the shop floor.
  • Provides daily shop floor support as required by the Machine Shop Supervisor.
  • Interacts with all areas of operations, material management, planning, engineering, tool and die, and quality assurance.
  • Adheres to safety practices and procedures.
  • Follows procedures as defined by Fike policies, procedures, and ISO9001 requirements.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is required.
