About The Position

Stewart Tubular Products is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support its growing machining operations. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving CNC programs for premium threaded connections, downhole tools, tubular accessories, and other precision-machined components. This position is ideal for a programmer who enjoys solving machining challenges, improving manufacturing processes, and working directly with machinists to drive quality and efficiency. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with CNC lathes and mills using Fanuc controls
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings

Nice To Haves

  • Experience programming threaded products, oil & gas components, or precision-machined parts preferred
  • Mori Seiki, Mazak, Haas, Puma SMX, Kuraki, or OM VTL equipment
  • API threads, premium threads, and customer-specific connections
  • Mastercam or similar CAM software

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for lathes, mills, mill-turns, and VTLs
  • Determine tooling, cutting parameters, work holding, and machining strategies
  • Support production by troubleshooting programming, tooling, threading, and dimensional issues
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and work orders to develop efficient machining processes
  • Program and support API, premium, and customer-specific threaded connections
  • Develop setup sheets, tooling sheets, and program documentation
  • Maintain program revision control and programming standards
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, quality personnel, and production leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, quality improvements, and machining efficiency
  • Assist with tooling evaluations, fixture development, and process optimization
