About The Position

ALIGN PRECISION is growing in Horsham, Pennsylvania, and we’re looking for talented CNC Programmers to join our new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly skilled team supporting advanced manufacturing and close-tolerance machining. You’ll work with modern equipment, sophisticated CAD/CAM technology, and challenging components while collaborating with engineers, machinists, and manufacturing leaders to develop efficient, repeatable processes. This role is ideal for a programmer who is comfortable working in a close-tolerance milling environment and has hands-on experience with multi-axis and 5-axis machining.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Mastercam experience in a production machining environment; less experience may be considered for entry-level candidates with strong technical skills.
  • Proven experience programming 5-axis 3+2 machining.
  • Experience in a close-tolerance milling environment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Ability to understand machining parameters, including speeds, feeds, depth of cut, tooling, and horsepower requirements.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including geometry, trigonometry, fractions, ratios, and proportions.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, flexible, and highly detail-oriented.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, communicate, and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to take ownership of projects from concept through production.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, tooling catalogs, machining references, and technical information related to machining processes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to machinists, supervisors, engineers, and other internal customers is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • 5-axis simultaneous programming experience.
  • Vericut experience.
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • Custom Macro B programming experience.
  • CNC probing and in-process inspection programming experience.
  • Additional experience in advanced multi-axis machining and process development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Approximately 10 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of Mastercam experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • 1+ year of Vericut experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain multi-axis CNC programs using Mastercam CAD/CAM software.
  • Program advanced 5-axis 3+2 machining; simultaneous 5-axis programming experience is highly desirable.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers, machinists, supervisors, and other programmers to develop effective machining processes.
  • Use Vericut machine simulation to verify programs and help ensure collision-free machining.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, tooling information, and process specifications.
  • Conduct program reviews, test runs, and troubleshooting to ensure programs produce quality parts to specification.
  • Optimize cutting strategies, speeds, feeds, tooling, workholding, and machining sequences for quality and efficiency.
  • Design workholding and fixtures using SolidWorks and/or Mastercam.
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues and provide technical support to machinists and supervisors.
  • Incorporate machine probing routines into CNC programs for validation and in-process inspection.
  • Utilize Custom Macro B programming to develop special functions as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization of CNC programming and manufacturing processes.
  • Take ownership of programming projects and work collaboratively to support customer delivery commitments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager or Director of Engineering.
