About The Position

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting CNC machining programs to produce customer parts safely, accurately, and efficiently. This position supports manufacturing through process planning, tooling selection, programming, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of CNC machining and/or CNC programming experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications.
  • Experience with CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Working knowledge of G-code / M-code.
  • Understanding of cutting tools, speeds/feeds, workholding, and machining practices.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
  • Basic understanding of setup sheets, tooling lists, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with machinists and production teams.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs and meet production deadlines.
  • Strict adherence to attendance policies.
  • Applicants selected for hire will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test. Continued employment is conditioned upon compliance with Truline’s nicotine and drug-free workplace policies, including any required testing.
  • The first 90 days of employment are considered a probationary period. During this time no PTO is accrued, and you have a maximum of 20 unpaid hours (2 full working days) off. Missing more than 20 hours of work during the first 90 days of employment would result in termination. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-axis machining.
  • Experience with CAM software such as Esprit or similar.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience in aerospace or tight-tolerance manufacturing environments.
  • Journeyman machinist certification or technical schooling.

Responsibilities

  • Create CNC programs using CAM software (Esprit) and/or manual G-code as required.
  • Post-process and verify programs to ensure correct machine compatibility.
  • Maintain consistent programming standards and formatting practices.
  • Ensure safe start-ups, safe retracts, tool changes, and proper program flow.
  • Tooling and work holding selection/optimization.
  • Create sequence details and written descriptions including tool lists and tool numbers, offsets and tool lengths, work offsets, work holding description, and part zero location and probing steps. Document cycle time expectations.
  • Machine prove-out.
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues such as tool chatter, poor surface finish, dimensional drift, tool life failures, program alarms or machine errors.
  • Continuous improvement and cycle time optimization.
  • Work with shop leadership to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
  • Program revision control and documentation management.
  • Communication and cross department support.
  • Support quoting/estimating by providing cycle time estimates, tooling cost estimates, process feasibility input.
  • Work with purchasing to ensure tooling and fixture requirements are understood.
  • Assist production with troubleshooting machining issues during production runs.
  • Follow all aerospace quality standards, safety procedures, and company policies.

Benefits

  • Starting pay rate: $30/hr. Rate will be evaluated over the course of the first 90 days, with further performance-based raises possible in the future.
  • 401k matching: Truline will match 100% of contributions up to 10% of an employee’s pay, eligibility to join the company retirement plan starts on January 1st following the hire date of an employee.
  • 100% employer funded healthcare (the company will cover monthly costs and the deductible, but employees will be responsible for some co-payments). Eligibility begins on the first of the month after employment.
