CNC Programmer/Technician
About The Position
Transparent Search Group is conducting a search on behalf of a manufacturing client in the Iowa City area seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Technician to join their production team. This is a hands-on technical role suited to a candidate who is comfortable both programming and operating CNC equipment in a precision manufacturing environment. This position is open to local candidates only; relocation assistance is not available. Candidates who take pride in precision work and want to contribute directly to a production operation will find this role to be a solid long-term fit.
Requirements
- Demonstrated CNC programming experience in a manufacturing setting
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software
- Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes and mills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Effective communication and the ability to work within a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree or technical certification in machining or a related field
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify CNC programs for lathe and mill operations using CAD/CAM software
- Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines to meet production specifications and tolerances
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Perform routine inspection of finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy
- Troubleshoot programming errors and machine issues to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes
- Maintain documentation of programs, setups, and process changes
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized shop environment
Benefits
- Compensation range of $60,000 to $85,000 annually
