About The Position

Under limited supervision, develop, maintain, and optimize CNC programs for punch presses, laser cutting equipment, and press brakes to support production requirements and quality objectives. Partner with Engineering, Planning, and Procurement teams to improve manufacturing efficiency, streamline workflows, and ensure timely completion of production schedules and customer orders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of K-factor calculations, bend deductions, and flat pattern development.
  • This position is designated as safety-sensitive.
  • Working knowledge of punch press tooling and press brake tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, including fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry, trigonometry, and shop math applications.
  • Ability to analyze problems, gather relevant data, evaluate information, and develop practical solutions.
  • Capability to interpret complex technical instructions, diagrams, and engineering specifications.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards and manufacturing best practices.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally to team members across departments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to machining processes, workholding methods, tooling applications, feeds, and speeds.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with employees across multiple departments.
  • Ability to accurately follow written instructions, procedures, and technical documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
  • Previous experience operating turret punch press equipment strongly preferred.
  • Two to five years of CNC programming experience using Trumpf or comparable manufacturing software preferred.
  • Experience utilizing SolidWorks PDM preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D solid models.
  • Utilize SolidWorks models and file packages to generate CNC programs for punch press and press brake operations.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by reducing setup, punching, and bending cycle times.
  • Manage tooling selection, maintenance, and deployment during program development.
  • Create and maintain setup documentation and work instructions.
  • Provide recommendations and feedback to support continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop CNC programs for new products while ensuring compliance with quality standards, engineering specifications, prints, models, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure departmental files, documentation, and programming records are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs while maintaining product quality and operational performance.
  • Organize, update, and maintain part programs and files to the current revision level.
