Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong understanding of machining processes
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
  • Background in G-code programming

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam, CAMWorks, SmartCAM, or similar
  • Experience with sub-spindle pickoff and bar feeders
  • Knowledge of 2-turret operations, including wait codes

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and related equipment
  • Perform machine setups and operate equipment at standard DPS throughput
  • Read, interpret, and work from complex blueprints and design models
  • Input product designs into CAM and modeling software
  • Write, edit, and troubleshoot programs using G-code and M-code
  • Adjust machine settings to achieve required tolerances and specifications
  • Test and verify the accuracy of machine settings and CNC programs
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize machine performance
  • Stage jobs ahead of machine output to support continuous production flow
  • Prepare and cut bar stock and fully stock job carts as needed
  • Coordinate tooling needs and submit purchase requisitions as inventory runs low
