The CNC Process Engineer analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine the best method for production using existing manufacturing processes and methods. This role involves creating, implementing, and troubleshooting CNC programs for new parts start-ups, determining the feasibility of designing new tooling or equipment, and providing technical information regarding manufacturing processes. The engineer will also confer with customers to resolve problems, create and modify models from customer drawings, and direct the manufacturing of prototypes. Additionally, they will confer with vendors, estimate production times and costs, and develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to enhance production levels, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety. The role requires troubleshooting process problems, updating process procedures, understanding metrology, SPC, and Process Capability, and determining test methods for engineering changes. The engineer will stay updated on new technologies, assist in new product development, and perform technical presentations to customers, including assisting with sales proposals.
