About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Precision Machinist specializing in CNC Mill and/or CNC Lathe programming and machining. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment to produce high-quality, tight-tolerance components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology and contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working independently while maintaining production efficiency and quality standards. The hourly rate will be based on experience and capabilities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience (Mill or Lathe specialization).
  • Proficiency in G&M-code programming and editing at the machine.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with precision measuring tools and quality inspection processes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Experience machining a variety of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, plastics).
  • Must have a good work ethic, dependable, great communications skills, positive team player, self-motivated, person of high integrity, shows initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience with CAD Cam Software, Mastercam preferred.
  • Personal measuring equipment to use on the job, not required but preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program, edit and optimize CNC programs for Mill and/or Lathe operations. Knowledge of G&M codes preferred.
  • Set up machine including material, tooling selection, offsets and fixture alignment.
  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings accurately to produce complex parts.
  • Select proper cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
  • Operate CNC Mill and/or Lathe to manufacture precision components.
  • Download existing programs into the controls and make necessary adjustments to the programs.
  • Update header and tooling information so the information is clear and accurate for others to use as well.
  • Monitor machine operations and adjust as necessary to maintain tolerances.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
  • Maintain production efficiency while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Inspect and document parts as required on inspection sheets, when required.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust setups as needed, and ensure adherence to safety protocols throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized area.
  • Commitment to safety standards and quality assurance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
