About The Position

Picture your day beginning on the production floor: a CNC cell is due for a tune-up, a PLC alarm needs chasing, and a new piece of equipment is arriving by noon. As our CNC/PLC Systems Maintenance Technologist, you are the go-to expert who keeps complex machines healthy, facilities running smoothly, and projects moving forward.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting CNC and PLC equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with rigging and safe equipment installation practices.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • PLC troubleshooting expertise.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting proficiency.
  • Comfort with 120/208/240/480 VAC systems.
  • Experience in CNC machine repair and optimization.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Pneumatics troubleshooting know-how.
  • Background in industrial electrical systems and practices.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting CNC machines.

Responsibilities

  • Keep all CNC and PLC-driven assets performing at their best, minimizing unplanned downtime.
  • Create, refine, and document preventive maintenance routines across the equipment fleet.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues with speed and accuracy.
  • Use technical manuals, drawings, and schematics to troubleshoot failures and execute the right fix.
  • Assist with installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Fabricate parts and assemblies from blueprints or technical drawings when off-the-shelf won’t cut it.
  • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective components to restore reliability.
  • Handle facility upkeep, including roofing, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical distribution work.
  • Install conduit along with water and compressed air lines to support production needs.
  • Move and install production equipment using proper rigging practices.
  • Repair or replace refractory materials in slot-type furnaces.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering teams on projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Coach and train maintenance personnel on correct equipment care and procedures.
  • When needed, take responsibility for assigned maintenance personnel and ensure job completion.
  • Participate in training programs and take on additional duties as required.
